I don't know why you mention "clicking" when using GNOME Do -- there's no clicking necessary. Once you find the item you want, you just press enter and Do will take the given action with the given item; you don't need to tab to the action first, or click on it... You seem like you don't have a very good grasp on how either program works, and I don't mean this as a personal invective, but for someone who "writes for some of the most respected publications in the industry," your composition could use significant improvement. You also got the name of the application you're writing about wrong -- it's "GNOME Do" (no hyphen).
* What do you mean by applet? Neither Quicksilver nor Do are considered applets by their users.
* "...with the calculator plugin, if you type an equation in the left side, Do will start your desktop environment's calculator on the right. Press Enter, and there's the answer." This is completely false. First, it evaluates expressions, not equations. Second, it uses Google Calculator, not your desktop calculator.
