The only thing I personally dislike about UUIDs and/or Filesystem Labels is the fact that you need to use an initrd (Initial Ramdisk) if you want to use those fancy descriptors for the kernel command line's root-parameter. That said, I wouldn't want to miss this very cool feature any more :)
