What UUIDs can do for you

I never had this on other Unix systems. What would be the best solution is to make sure that the disk install process does not change existing device designations, unless If it is smart enough to do hdb when you add drive #2, it should be able to make drive #3 hdc ( or hdd, given that you have to make a cd or dvd work too ).
