Keep an eye on your system logs with phpLogCon

I agree to comment one above, but it is handy to have access to log information on a (remote) datacenter server. To do so securely, you need to use https and authentication. Then, I'd recommend to not access the files in /var/log directly, but rather use a link or - better - make the syslogd write them to two locations (space should not really be an issue...).
