Well, at least I like CLI applications. They give me possibility to do GUI for it, for eg. with PHP or with C/C++.
And all what I have to code is a GUI what calls this CLI application. I can do GUI the way I want.
IMHO CLI-applications is must, so it is easier to do GUI's for them. Then I don't have to re-invent a wheel.
Just call that CLI-application what makes the work.
