Note that in Debian, smail was removed from the archive and will not be available for future releases. Ubuntu has dutifully followed suit and smail will not be in future ubuntu releases either.

* Dead upstream
Looking at the project's home page, it would seem that nothing much has changed. The last "release" was a beta a year ago.
Is this really a good recommendation for an alternative MTA?
