I have looked at ArtistX and it does not seem like a very viable solution right now because it can't be installed. Nobody's going to do serious multimedia work on a live DVD. As for the "thousands of software" the MMBD has nearly the same programs....I have a feeling they are counting every single package on their DVD as part of that thousands.
