That's fine if you have a system that keeps the config for the currently running kernel. What I wanted was a way to glean the support information from the running kernel. Modern kernels support keeping the config in the kernel, but Ubuntu, the system that I use most, doesn't enable that option when compiling their kernels. I want something that is universal and foolproof.
