I have an NVIDIA card, and I've had nothing but pain with 8.10 (basically a black screen after login, no matter how many fixes I tried), so i had to revert to 8.04. This is hard to do because your .kde directory is updated to KDE4 (as explained in the release notes, to be honest). All in all, my first bad experience with Kubuntu :-(
