It is good to see that the teacher IS OPEN MINDED and just didn't know.

SO- now that the teacher does KNOW, that there is more besides APPLE and Microsoft, then this teacher is going to be a better teacher.

The teachers are in thrall to the administrators, The administrators, being stupid, think software is a two word phrase, first word "Microsoft". Wordprocessor means "Microsoft Word", spreadsheet means "Microsoft Excel", etc. The idea that there is non Microsoft software in the world is completely alien to them. Most of them have NEVER used or seen a computer that did not run M$ software. Computer classes are strictly in the use of M$ office products. Teaching programming is impossible because students math and logic skills are too weak.

Please, this story was already discredited as a big fat HOAX! Members of the social web on Digg and Reddit have already posted the list of phone numbers of all teachers named 'Karen' who work for the Austin Independent School District of Texas, which was obtained from www.austinisd.org, and have called each one. NONE of them recall anything like the incident alleged. The superintendent has heard of no such incident. None of the other details match. IT'S A LIE, like everything else that comes from Hellos. Please stop spreading it.
