Subject : Playing mp3 on PS3 using Mediatomb
I'm using Mediatomb as mediaserver to play music and videos on my PS3. However, i'm not able to play mp3 files, i get the message "incompatible data" on the tv. I'm able to play most videos, but not all. The software i use are Ubuntu 7.10 and Mediatomb 0.10.0. I have also made sure that both w32codecs og libdvdcss2 codecs are installed, as are the "restricted extras" (as someone tiped me to check). What can the problem be?

Thanx for the tip, i tried but it still doesn't work. I've also made sure i have the w32codecs. Could there be any other codecs or something that i don't know about? The wma is also activated (on my ps3), as a guy suggested.

I don't believe it's a codecs issue. From all I've read, once you get your mappings right, that is, once you've mapped MP3 to audio/mpeg, you should be able to play MP3s. I'll keep looking and see if I can find something else.
