well i finally got sick of windows and figured i would try this out, i recently bought a toshiba satelite a200-25v 200G hd 1G ram, atheros 802.11 wireless, fun fun. wont install drivers compatible with ubuntu, i've been through every walk through video and tried everything i could imagine, great system cant figure this wireless thing out. it says the drivers are being used and the card is active, but i have no wireless option just Lan. what do i do? need a set up walk through with someone who can actual help. thanks to anyone who replies to this thread.

I have generally the same problem but I can't even get the darn thing set up, i'm using ndiswrapper or something but it just confuses me more lol.

im using ndiswrapper as well, i have the original vista driver for the card, but the .inf files come up as invalid driver when i add them.... tryed windows xp drivers for the card, only one sayed that it was a valid driver, but it still didnt bring up a wireless option in network managment..

Oh and another thing, the original drivers for the card are on my desktop, but of course there .exe files, which meens i cant view files to get .inf file i need..... it just auto installs, ive bein at this for about 7 hours now, driver after driver has bein invalid.

So can we assume that you have tried posting this on the Ubuntu forums? If so, what advice did you get?

ok so it took me and two other geniuses to figure this out, this will not work if you dont have the same chipset...... go to http://www.ubuntugeek.com/atheros-5007eg-with-madwifi-on-i386-platform.html let me know how this works for you. good luck to all with the toshiba a200-25v laptop "over and out"
