hi, I just had ubuntu put on my old pc, I have no idea how to get on line or even loging in, are there any books for dummies on Linux.

do you have dial-up or a high speed connection? i've been told that dial-up is a problem for linux although i'm a noob myself. i have at&t dsl, after i installed ubuntu i just plugged my modem in to the computer and voila, it recognized it immediately, easy cheezy.
