Our client is a leader in providing solutions-based information technology services to the Department of Defense (DoD), and we are currently seeking a highly experienced Senior Integrator for research and development with the Navy SOA Program. Use your extensive knowledge of Java/J2EE, XML, SOAP, HTTP, WSDL, JMS, Linux and Windows to evaluate technologies, develop prototypes, and maintain a knowledge base, according to best practices from the OpenUP process.
The successful candidate will be actively involved in:
• Creating a total systems perspective, including a technical understanding of relationships, dependencies, and requirements of hardware and software components within the Navy SOA platform
• Maintaining plans of activities and experiments that are required to evaluate tools and core technologies. Providing recommendations for their use in the Navy SOA platform
• Using tools and best practices from OpenUP to evaluate technologies. Designing, developing and documenting a toolbox of samples/solutions that represent common design patterns in the Navy SOA domain
• Creating a knowledge base that includes explanations, how-to guides, problems, designs, recommendations, code samples, solutions and lessons learned
• Guiding, assisting and monitoring external teams and junior developers as they develop plans, perform activities, design/develop solutions, and maintain their knowledge bases
• Reviewing other samples/solutions and knowledge bases to ensure completeness, accuracy and quality of information
• Participating in project and program reviews, including those identified by best practices gleaned from OpenUP
• Helping internal teams package, deploy and test solutions in preparation for inclusion in baselines
Required experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related major; will consider equivalent business experience
• Ten plus years of demonstrated ability with web-based software development, integration, testing and documentation
• Expert knowledge of, and recent experience with, the following languages, standards, components, and operating systems: Java/J2EE, XML, SOAP, HTTP, WSDL, JMS, Linux and Windows
• Recent experience with one or more of the following technologies: Enterprise Service Bus (ESB), Business Process Modeling and Management (BPM), Business Process Analysis and Monitoring (BAM), or Service Discovery (UDDI and/or JAX-R)
• Senior-level expertise with software development processes, standards and associated best practices
• Senior-level expertise with configuration management systems, issue tracking systems and associated best practices
• U.S. DoD “Secret” security clearance or the ability to obtain one by way of background check
Candidates with the following qualifications will be given additional consideration:
• In-depth knowledge of the following languages, standards, components, and operating systems: OpenUP, JAX-WS, JAX-B, Service Discovery (UDDI and/or JAX-R), portlets (JSR 168), JSP/JSF, XSL, Enterprise Service Bus (ESB), BPM/BPMN, BAM, xPDL, SSL, LDAP, single sign-on (SSO), Geoserver, WFS, WMS, Deegree, CVS/Subversion, and virtual operating system environments
• Knowledge of DoD/military command structure to include all branches of the Armed Service
• Holds a technical leadership role in current position
• Experience working in DoD and/or SPAWAR environments
