Subject : OSL 3.0 vs GPL 3.0?
Hi. I haven't been coding very long, so I only recently heard about OSL 3.0 as an alternative to the GPL 3.0. I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts/opinions relating to that. I read a number of pages, such as http://rosenlaw.com/OSL3.0-explained.htm, that seem to speak pretty well of it as being a more precise legal statement. But they also said it was more like the LGPL than the GPL 3.0.

http://www.gnu.org/philosophy/license-list.html Also, while GPL has been proven in courts, OSL has never been tested in a court. Plus, it's not as widely used, and one of the primary reasons for that could be it's incompatibility with the GPL.
