Does anyone know how to set a message or a redirect that can be used when internet connection is lost? It doesn't have to be automatic but I want to let users know without manually sending email that the internet is down as they try to browse. I've found some php scripts that could be used, but I was hoping for an easier way.

A way to do it is if you can make your users use squid proxy, just add squidguard which is a redirector for squid, from there you can change the default error page very easilly. I´d recommend also Wembin as a mean to manage squid and squidguard Good luck
