app help, please?
is there a version of linux that has the ability to run standard .exe apps?
i have a program id very much like to install on linux due to having sooooo much crap to slow me down on windows

You can run Wine ([url]http://www.winehq.org/[/url]) on any Linux distro, and it can handle many different Windows applications. However, I think you will find that the free replacements that Linux offers are often better!

And if it won't run under wine, you can install a virtual machine manager and run Windows and all its applications as a Linux guest. I prefer Sun's VirtualBox - the price is right (free) and it seems pretty efficient. I use it for Windows applications that I haven't found a suitable Linux replacement for, such as my stock/option trading software.
