Subject : opening files after being downloaded from firefox
hey ive downloaded a number of program files from the net, such as frostwire/limewire and such things and they download successfully in the download tabbed window and then when its 100 percent downloaded it cums up with open and remove besides it and i click open and nuffin at all happens, the open link goes form blue to purple but nuffin actually happens. please help. thanking-you.

What distribution of Linux are you using (Ubuntu, Debian, Fedora...)? And what version of that distribution? And which version of Firefox is installed? (Menu: Help >> About Mozilla Firefox).

eee pc 900 linux rev.1.0 a089 ? (not sure if thats wt u mean thats what version it says on the recovery disc because i dont have a manual with it written on.) and firefox 2.0.0.11 im normally a windows person so its all new lol.

When you downloaded Limewire and your other programs, you probably downloaded software for Windows, which will not work in Linux. If what you downloaded says exe. any where on it, delete them and send them to trash. They are useless to a new user. Not being familiar with EEE PC or Linux I am not going to explain Wine to you. But i guess it's been resolved now. regards
