I ordered the Ubuntu version 8.10 from their site and just installed it on my Compaq over my old Windows version. The installation went perfect and it said everything was fine but when it restarted and went to the desktop, there was a blank tan screen for about 5 seconds and then it went black and has been like that for the last 30 minutes. Any suggestions? I"m super frustrated.
