I was distro surfing today and came across this little gem of a distribution I have heard little about. PLD Linux is an rpm based distro once based on Redhat, and reminds me of a cross between Redhat and Debian. Installation is accomplished via a simple text based installer, with fewer steps than most and no rebooting required to finish the install. The most recent distribution os comprised of 11 CDROMS of packages. Check it out at http://www.pld-linux.org/

All the documentation is in Polish though, and there are some different things in it. For instance in order to use su or sudo you need to be part of the "Wheel" group. I guess the reason is that in order to gain access you need to know three seperate parameters? I know I couldn't use it 'cause I would constantly be thinking stuff like "How many Pollacks does it take to write English documentation?" and things like that :) PLD is a recursive acronym (which are quite popular in the Open Source world) for PLD Linux Distribution. Do note, that it used to be Polish(ed) Linux Distribution, but that has changed many years ago and is no longer valid.
