Subject: New to Linux System
Greetings Everyone, My organization has recently installed a new system and I am looking to run reports via Sql or the linux equivalent. Can someone point me in the right direction on what software is needed to run reports or to connect to the database to pull information. Thanks in advance for your help. Tracia

What setup are you used to working with? You can look at MySQL or PostgreSQL. http://www.mysql.com/ http://www.postgresql.org/

my favorite ise postgresql. Because read this simple: The PostgreSQL Global Development Group (PGDG) takes security seriously, allowing our users to place their trust in the web sites and applications built around PostgreSQL. Our approach covers fail-safe configuration options, a secure and robust database server as well as good integration with other security infrastructure software.
