Welcome to the community. :-) Linux can be easy or hard to learn, depending on what you start out trying to do. A good distribution to start with is either Knoppix or PCLOS, available at [url]http://www.knoppix.com/[/url] or [url]http://www.pclinuxos.com/[/url] (I recommend the latter). If you like it, and want to install it, Ubuntu is a good distro to go with. You can get it at [url]www.ubuntu.com[/url].

A good place for help advice etc. is your local LUG (Linux User Group) http://www.linux.org/groups/ <- lists various LUGs around the world. LUGs are usually friendly, most have monthly meets (the local one here is a pub meet every second sunday of the month), and normally have people of all age ranges and experience.
