Hi, whenever I boot into Linux(Ubuntu 7.10), my splash screen won't show because it's resolution is too high. My monitor says to change the res. X is the graphics server system that Linux uses to producer your graphic user interface (GUI). Are you able to run a normal Ubuntu desktop, presumably Gnome? If yes... I'm on the road right now and don't have a Gnome desktop with me. If anyone reading this out there does, could you please the menu steps to access the X settings? Wiiplayer, if someone does, then follow the steps and post the results. Be sure that the settings are compatible with your monitor. if not, it is fairly easy to play around with the resolution. Wiiplayer, I'm guessig here, but look under System or Administration, or anything like that on your menu, and then look for a Display heading. Alternatively, see if you have a file xorg.conf in /etc/X11. Look for "Section Monitor" and post the resolution settings that you see there. Sorry that I can't be more helpful. And just Google USplash and you should be able to find it. Better yet, try sudo apt-get install USplash and see if that works for you. Take the red pill Climate Change Blog Food Weblog

I saw something for changing resolution on USplash by putting vga=0x317 at the end of a line, nothing happened. so i was thinking, maybe the resolution mght be too low, you think i should try deleting the last two?
