Subject: OpenSuse vs Ubuntu
It seems some distribution choosers recommend OpenSuse for older hardware and I couldn't help noticing that Suse has somewhat lower requirements than Ubuntu. I've got a P4 with 1.6 Ghz and 256mb RAM(unfortunatley). Xubuntu is flawless on it, but would OpenSuse with GNOME run decent?

If you are running a full kde distro like Kubuntu, you should have no problem running a any distro with gnome.

I think that warlock is using Xubuntu though, so that's XFCE? Gnome will be a bit more demanding, but your CPU is decent. A little RAM upgrade if you could, even to 512Mb, would make a noticeable difference.

Yep, that's Xfce, but I guess I'll stick with it. I don't think the mem sticks I need are still manufactured and since I'm getting a new pc in a few months, it's not really worth the effort. Thanks for the tips.
