hello, i'm new and looking for the (linux os). can someone help me please .. i mainly use my system for browesing the net , email, playing videos and tv. so what version should i download? thanks scrooge

ok i got Mandriva but when installing it localhost and password comes up .whats this all about ? cause i can't get past this point. thanks again scrooge

scrooge, you will have to set a password for your system. That's what the password screen is for. You will use this password to administer your system. Does Mandriva have the codecs needed for some video files like MKV, and handling soft subs? well, doesn't hurt to try Linux Mint even though you've downloaded Mandriva
