Subject: Java Runtime Environment
I tried to install jre 6u5 on fedora core 5 and when i finished the browser (firefox) will not start. I can anyone help me out?

If you run firefox from a terminal (open a terminal and type "firefox") does it give you any output ? Any error messages ? Please post them back here. Incidentally, why are you running FC5 ? FC9 (Fedora Core 9) is released in 8 days (on 13th of May '08) Fedora site: http://fedoraproject.org/ Also, I would suggest updating your Fedora to a newer version (FC5 is ~2 years old now...) if you can.

Like Penguin said, you should consider moving to a newer Fedora distribution. If you can't, at least use JRE u6 which solves this problem, to the best of my knowledge. Also, could you tell us the installation procedure you used.
