It loads faster than windows until it says something along the lines of, "Starting Swapfile Swap" And stays there for a long time. This has been annoying me, and I've switched back to Windows because of this. Is this normal, or is there a fix? I'm using Ubuntu 8.04.

How much space did you allocate for swap?[/quote] I have about 865 MB of RAM, NVidia 5200 FX, 3400+ AMD Athlon 64 processor, I don't know the rest. I've installed Ubuntu already. I'm not sure, I used Wubi and got a 10 GB installation. It said nothing about swap space. Now I can't log in at all, it forces me to do this one "busybox" thing, and I don't know any commands to start up Ubuntu. It's like this command prompt. It's the former, most probably... As i've never used the Wubi install, I can't offer much but say uninstall and reinstall. I'm not sure if the Ubuntu install allows you to repartion your hard drive, but if it does remember to set a home partition (/) and a swap partition when you re-install.

I've tried reinstalling. Nothing changes.
