Subject: Installing Software... Not Unlike "Flock"
Like most on this forum I'm a babe in the woods.
I managed to install Flash-Player but the browser shuts down a few seconds after launching Mozilla. Not that important but if someone has a fix please let me know.
More specifically I would like to understand the process of simply installing a new piece of software. (ie latest version of "OpenOffice" and the new browser "Flock"). I have looked over part of the Forum "New to Linux" without success, it's probably jumping out at me, but it's apparent by copy of this Blog, that I've missed it.
So is there a simple step by step process or does each program have a different process?
thanks

First of all you need to give more information about your problem. I have no idea what distro you are using, what version it is, or what your system specs are.
There are many ways to install programs in linux. Some are obvious and easy and other less intuitive for a new comer.
Here are 2 How To guides for Linux.

My apologies, Red Hat 9.
Gave the HOW-TO's a shot, neither helped on "Flock".
Any other suggestions?
