how do i use my video card drives?? i have the disk so how ddo i use them now?

Will you rephrase your question? I'm not sure what you are asking. Are you talking about hardware drivers, or having a problem with your video card and what disk are you referring to? Give a short explanation of what kind of problem you are now having and provide some information (name, model, size, etc.) about the specific hardware on your computer. And is this still in reference to the Mandriva distro?

If it ain't broke, you aren't trying hard enough.

If you have disks that came with your video card that contain hardware drivers, its likely that the manufacturer only provided these in a form for Windows. Their web site may have linux versions, but they may also be available from the software repositories of your linux distro. (eg,: http://www.nvidia.com/object/linux_nforce_1.23.html) In Ubuntu, you may need to enable restricted drivers, and they will be offered automatically. Good luck.

What Bob said. When I installed Linux Mint I was asked if I wanted to enable restricted drivers, and it sorta tells you what drivers you need for your video card, and you click a button and that's it. It should do that with any recent version of Linux Ubuntu.
