Subject: I haven't download Linux YET
I need information, but I'll start by giving you some. My new laptop is a Sony with abortion called vista installed, however I don't want to lose some the stuff I've got on the machine. I'm trying to use it to develop a new website The computer has 2gb of Ram, Intel dual core processor, 160GB hard drive, I have a 500GB external drive. 1. When I down load Linux is it easy to make the machine dual-boot? As in Linux and Vista 2. Is 2GB or RAM enough or do I need to upgrade? 3. What are the best web design software packages available? 4. What are the database design and implimentation tools available? Thanking you in advance

Try downloading some livecd distros like Knoppix http://www.knoppix.org/ You don't have to worry about Knoppix touching your hard drive because it runs from cd. But if your looking for something more permanent try taking a quiz ;) http://www.zegeniestudios.net/ldc/ http://polishlinux.org/choose/quiz/ Research the distros that come up on both tests the most, and burn more livecd's. btw 2gb of ram is definitely good enough. Some linux distros like Damn Small Linux can run on 16mb.
