Subject: Is Sabayon the right choice for me?
Hello,
I am using Ubuntu for 1.5 years now, but i just dont like it anymore. Its too much like Windows, and its not powerfull enough. I am searching for a stable, safe, and powerful Linux that looks good. Is Sabayon the right choice for me? Or should I try another one first?

^^ That's a good starting point. It does depend on what you want out your Distro though. e.g. Slackware is good for getting to know the internals of your system - it expects you to do everything yourself. LFS (Linux From Scratch) is the ultimate distro for learning what's in Linux, as you build it from scratch yourself (as the name suggests). OpenSuse and Fedora have both released new versions recently, but both try to make the transition from Windows to be as pain free as possible, so are often styled in a familiar way and tend to do most things for you. Debian is a relatively easy distro - you can either let it do it all for you, and it'll get most things right OOTB, or you can choose to fiddle with it (I've been using Debian for a long time now, it is my favourite distro simply because I can fiddle with anything I like, but don't have to waste time on things I'd like to be automatic, such as dependencies for packages [Slackware does no dependency checking, you have to make sure you install all the deps. yourself]).
I hope that helps somewhat...

(Incidentally, sorry if it's a bit rambling... Seems to be one of those days).
