The machine is programed with Chinese,which I don not read. LINUX and OPENOFFICE and FIREFOX as well as everything else are in Chinese. Any help on how to load an English version of the software onto this machine?

Is there some command needed to do this or might the Targus unit not be compatible?? Can I download another distro onto a usb memory and then load it onto this unit? I really like this computer and want to use it when I travel but I'm getting frustrated with the Chinese. Thanks again for the advice.

Power off the ASUS. 02. Make sure you have it plugged in to to the AC adapter. 03. Plug the less than 2 GB USB flash drive. 03. Plug in USB optical device with CD in it. 04. Power up the ASUS. - Keep pressing the escape key you will be pronpted with a boot selection. - You should see your CD/DVD device. Select it with the down arrow then press Enter. - The screen will prompt you again displaying "key in yes to continue". or reboot the system. - Key in the "yes' to continue. - You should see an informational message saying it will take about five minutes to complete. - Just let it do it's thing and it should be OK.
