Subject: Package inatall issues
I'm having issues inatalling some packages from a DVD that came with a Linux mag, can't remember but I think it was 2 discs, one with Debian, the other with misc. software, I've loaded it as a repository in synaptic (I run Ubuntu 7.10) but I can't find the software that I want (one is BitRock InstallBuilder, the other is the NTFS plugin) I have internet but am having modem problems (Linux not recognizing it, and my ISP isn't reliable)

AFAIK if you own DSL (PPPoE) run Debian install with -expertgui switch, it will promt for PPP(not installed by default). NTFS: maybe ntfs3g? Check your "/etc/apt/sources.list" with sudo, maybe synaptic didnt add it at all, cause you mistyped something?
