Subject: Connecting Linux VPN client to Microsoft VPN Server
I'm having difficulty conntecting my ASUS PC4G VPN/PPTP tunnel to a Microsoft VPN server.
I set up a VPN profile on the linux client with a Public IP, a User, a password then connect. I get errors.
This same PC will work fine on the local Domain.
Is there anything extra to turn on/off because it is a Microsoft VPN server?
Thanks for any help

Trouble shooting PPTP is cryptic at best. Please e-mail me the errors that you are getting along with your PPP peer file. DO NOT send me your chap-secrets file but make sure that it contains the correct information for authentication. We will start with those and see what we have to work with.

The biggest issue I have always found with PPTP is that firewalls and routers tend to blocking, or at least not forward the proper protocol. GRE protocol (protocol 47) needs to be forwarded by the router and not blocked by a firewall.
