MorneO Joined: Jul 19, 2008 Posts: 2 Other Topics	Posted Jul 19, 2008 at 7:28:51 AM Subject: Ubuntu 8.04 HI, New to Linux. I burned the ISO file to cd and booted from it. At the options screen I choose to do a clean install. But all I get after that is a bunch of errors. The main one is something like"Buffer I/O errors on device sr1" I have checked for errors on CD, no problems were found. Any ideas? Thanks guys.

It sounds like maybe your disc didn't burn right - does your burning software have any kind of "Verify Written Data" option?

I'd suggest either checking the CD for errors, or downloading the iso again, and burning a new CD. Sounds like either the download or the burning hit a data snag.
