Problem with Boot in ubuntu 8.0

I am new in Linux. I installed Linux ubuntu 8.0 because I am sick of Windows' mistakes and problems, so I was tring different types of Linix but when I uninstalled ubuntu 8.0 the boot has not been removed.And all my tries to remove it were invalid. Once I tried to remove the Linux boot I screwed up the Windows boot. And every time that happens I use the Windows' Recovery Disk to repair the Windows' Boot. Some guys advised me to Use Hiren's BootCD but it screwed up my Windows' boot and did not remove the Linux Boot. I am using Windows Vista Home Basic. Please help me.

Late last night I tried loading Open SUSE 11.0 (cover disk on Linux Format Magazine Issue 109 September 2009, which I got through the post this weekend but is not in the shops yet). This loaded easily and I have Linux up and running now. The only hitch I had was when the screen went blank during the installation programme and I hit the Enter key, which activate "Abort" and I had to start all over again. If the screen blanks just move the mouse to wake the screen up instead. The installation process was very simple. I just accepted all of the default options. The instructions were very clear (even for a Linux virgin like me!) This might be your solution too. Open SUSE got a good review in the magazine. sapape
