You've got graphics card, network cards, printers, scanners, webcams, etc. that work. You've got equivalent for all applications one might be familiar with in Windows. You've got large support communities in forums, wikis, IRC, mailing lists, etc. And in this case, as with almost all, hardware manufacturers are at fault, for not providing drivers for their products.
