Subject: "Save" Functions in oobase appear to be disabled
SA Desktop via Modem to HS Cable i386 2.66 GHz Debian/GNU (Etch) [2.6.18-5-686] KDE/Iceweasel/Icedove OpenOffice.org oobase/HSQLDB [ooo-build-2.0.4.9] First post in this Forum. Problem: GUI “Save” Functions in oobase appear to be disabled. I began a oo database “Table” a month ago but have been unable to figure out if there is a problem with the application, or if I am short a clue or two on how to manage it. There are 4 “Save” options that I have found: Under the “File Menu”, there are 2 options: “Save All” and “Save”. Under the “Edit” icon there is “Save Current Record”. There is a toolbar Icon “Save Current Record”. All 4 options appear to be permanently greyed out. One problem this creates is that if I do a Query from the GUI form without first exiting/reopening oobase, all the entries made in the current session get deleted. I don't know how to retrieve them and therefor I've had to re-enter them. Major PITA. I'm new to linux and this is my first exposure to running a db. I'm working on learning to use the Bash shell, but I'm a long way from knowing how to access oobase via the terminal, or shell, (I've tried and got nowhere) much less know what to look for if I do manage to call up the appropriate file/folder. (e.g., “~$ ls -a oobase ls: oobase: No such file or directory”) ... is about my level of savvy. Any help would be appreciated.

I thimk - therefore I'ma.
