Subject: User password reset in Linpus 9.3 on Acer One
I use the User Password function on my Acer aspire one to try to set a user password. However, the current password is not recognized, so I can't set or change password; think this problem appeared at first time start up when I had to restart the PC in the middle of the start up sequence. Can anyone advice on how I mange this problem: through the console, or any other route, without having to reinstall the system. Thanks Mikael

Boot the system into single user mode and the use the passwd command to reset your password: http://www.cyberciti.biz/faq/grub-boot-into-single-user-mode/

Actually, I did it this way: "to change the root password, use Alt-F2 to run Terminal, then change to root user with ’sudo su’ and then change the password with passwd ", http://www.aspireoneuser.com/2008/07/09/aspire-one-advance-linpus-mode-hack/#comments
