Wich OS do i download?

Hi, im new in Linux, i want to try it because a friend told me that it was great, but i don´t know wich to download, because i see like a lot of linux, i mean "puppy linux, mandriva" and a lot more wich one does i need to download. With choice comes responsibility...it's a burden, but worth the rewards. You can try several and see which you like best or which works best on your hardware. It's easy, and you'll learn a lot. If you don't want to spend a lot of time deciding, just pick one of the most popular to get started.
