Subject: hardware compatible linux laptops?
I don't mean to start a war but I want to purchase a new laptop that is fully compatible with linux. What's my best bet in terms of major manufacturers? Any manufacturers/models to avoid? I probably use CentOS (Redhat) linux.

I'm currently running a Dell Inspiron 9400 with linux on it. Works fine, took a bit of tweaking to get it working right (mostly just the wifi was spotty). I'm willing to bet most of the Inspirons will run linux just fine.

IBM laptops are linux friendly. Hewlet Packards can be a bit of a pain.
