Subject: Optical drive and Eee PC
Help somebody, I am brand new to Linux with my Eee PC (which uses Xandros OS). I initially tried using the 3 mobile broadband on this without much success. Now, I am trying to use a external cd drive (Philis SPD 3500CC) to install a Tmobile usb dongle but, the laptop does not recognise the bloody cd drive. How do I get a driver for the cd drive?

I don't own a EEE Pc. They seem to be really popular overseas though . I googled your Philips cd drive and pretty much ended up with foreign links with pages that needed translating. Here is the EEE Wiki page if that helps. http://wiki.eeeuser.com/
