Subject: postfix and squirrelmail
Fedora 9 with...
postfix-2.5.1-2.fc9.i386
dovecot-1.0.15-10.fc9.i386
squirrelmail-1.4.13-1.fc9.noarch
I'm a newbie to linux setting up email for the first time. I have apache server running and working.
I found instructions for setting up postfix email here:
http://www.linux.com/feature/52506
and I'm stuck at the section about squirrelmail midway down the page.
By doing http://my_domain_name_/webmail I was gobsmacked to see the squirrelmail page actually worked. Problem is, it's asking for a username and password and I don't know what to put. Of course it's down to me to configure this and I've probably missed a big step somewhere but where do I do this?
Second thing is if I go to a computer on a different broadband connection and do http://my_domain_name/ I see the web page I've set up, so that's all fine. But if I do http://my_domain_name/webmail I get:
'Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /webmail/ on this server.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Apache/2.2.9 (Fedora) Server at my_domain_name Port 80
Could the linux firewall be doing this? I ticked the IMAP box to allow it but it still didn't work. Would it be cause by something else?
thanks for any advice.
