I just booted the livecd (Mandriva One 2009 - KDE) and it seems very promising, especially for beginners. Everything works out of the box, includes propietary drivers, codecs and plugins for firefox. By default uses the "classic" menu style (for those like me who don't like kickoff, the "vista like" menu). Also, it includes Lancelot, a menu applet that is what kickoff should have been. Plus, the new KDE4 theme is great, very nice. Go get it at: http://www.mandriva.com/en/download
