Subject: Linux distro suggestions for laptop
Recently I installed Ubuntu (my first linux OS distro experience) on my new laptop alongside Vista. However I noticed a clicking noise and as it turned out I had the infamous Load Cycle bug (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/acpi-support/+bug/59695). So I "fixed" the issue by doing "hdparm -B 254 /dev/sda" ... only my hard drive was heating up. So I removed Ubuntu and I am running solely on Vista :( . What I'm asking is for some suggestions of "laptop friendly" linux distros that are not known to have this bug.

Mandriva comes to mind. Open Suse also a good choice. Mepis is also a good distro that I ran and Liked.
