Nearly all the viruses that come over e-mail are for Windows. In all the time I've used Linux, I've never encountered a Linux virus, or even had a breach of system security. If you install software only through your distribution's repositories, it all should be pretty secure. However, if you are really determined, you can check out clamav (http://www.clamav.net/).
