Anyone have any suggestions?

Now here is the noob question. How do I install it if I have it expanded on the desktop? It is not showing up in the list under add/remove.

When installing it from the repository it can't fetch most of the packages. Are there any others out there? I am only needing to capture from 2 cameras at home.
