I cannot get my system to recognize my new HP office jet or a Canon i250. What printer do I have to get? I also need to use it as a fax- anybody have any idea what a girl needs to do to print, copy and fax with a Linux system??

The answer to your questions may vary a lot from distribution to distribution. Anyway, chances are when it comes to specific printer issues, we are probably going to refer you to either to a forum like http://forums.openprinting.org/index.php?18 or to the support forums of your particular distribution.
