Subject: running Adobe Photoshop and Microsoft Office on Kubuntu
Once I have fixed an installation problem http://www.linux.com/forums/topic/3524 I am going to try to load software like Photoshop, Acrobat and Microsoft Office on Kubuntu. Before doing so I want to ask you, is it possible to use Photoshop, Acrobat and Microsoft Office on Kubuntu? If you have the time please have a look at the above mentioned post.

there is a linux acrobat reader, you should be able to install it from the package manager, in debian the package name is acroreader, this should be the same if you take my suggestion and use mepis as it is debian based ubuntu is also debian based, but they modify thier package structure alot more, to the point where i dont believe they are very compatible with debians repositories. as for the other two, there are way's to go about doing that, but you may also want to try alternative programs - like openoffice, which is included in many linux distributions, and Gimp or Gimpshop instead of photoshop. if you find these unnacceptable, i have heard that photoshop CS2 works pretty much flawlessly under wine - which is a microsoft windows compatibility layer. you can check it out at www.winehq.org i do not know about other versions of photoshop. as for office, you can try it with wine as well, but i'm not sure how well it works.
