Subject: crystal webcam won`t work
Acer Laptop - SUSE Linux 11.0 dual boot with Vista Webcam works ok under Vista but won`t work under Linux. Driver appears to be loaded but can`t use the webcam either with Kopete or Skype.

I don't run Open Suse, but maybe this link will help to make sure you have the right driver loaded. http://en.opensuse.org/HCL/Web_Cameras

I`ve reloaded the uvcvideo driver and also tried lucview and gqcam. lucview gives me a blue screen with the FPS changing but no picture. gqcam gives "error while loading shared libraries: libgtk-1.2.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory" Within Kopete - on configure, Video, I get nothing.

The kernel-2.6.27 has drivers that fix a boat load of driver problems, Webcams, Atheros wireless drivers. what kernel version do you have ?

Thanks for the response both. I`ve now upgraded to suse 11.1 and the problem has disappeared. Not exactly fixed - just overcome... kernel is now 2.6.27.7-9 so perhaps that`s done it.
